Face Surgery
Face Lift
Facelift surgery may improve some of the damage from ageing, such as loosening of the facial skin and creasing around the nose and mouth. A Facelift is not primarily a treatment for wrinkles.
Typically during a facelift, once the anaesthetic has taken effect, your surgeon will make a surgical cut right around your hairline, past the front of your ears. Cuts may also be made under your chin, if you want to lift a sagging jaw line.
Your skin will then be carefully separated from the underlying muscles of your face. Excess fat will be removed and the muscles will be tightened. The skin will then be lifted up, pulled back and any excess will be trimmed off. It will then be stitched back to the line where the cut was initially made.

APTOS - Feather lift
The newest method of face and neck lift, the APTOS Feather Lift, is a non-invasive technique that lifts the skin by means of needle and special indented thread to rectify sagging skin and wrinkles. The method can be used for face and neck contour correction, saggy facial skin, loose neck, double chin, sagging mouth, sagging corners of eyes, and sagging breasts. It results in a more youthful, fresh and energetic appearance. It is an individualised procedure depending on your face, skin, bone structure and your goals.
It is commonly done for both men and women from age 30, which is younger than for surgical face lift. It is simpler, more convenient and with shorter recovery than surgical facelift. A complete treatment plan for the face could also include liposuction of fat from the chin area to rectify double chin and eyelid surgery to solve wrinkled skin around the eyes and eye bags. The treatment can achieve moderate firming and rejuvenation, cases requiring more radical improvement are advised to have a surgical facelift. The effect lasts up to five years and it can be repeated several times.
Procedure: A needle is used to apply the Aptos thread through the underside of the skin. The Aptos thread is a special fibre with bi-directional cogs or barbs. The Aptos fibres attach to the tissue when they are threaded and the whole thread holds the given area in the desired shape. The thread is made of a hypo-allergenic and fully biocompatible material that has been used in cosmetic surgery for many years. Patients should not smoke at all at least 1-2 weeks before and after procedure. It is done under local anaesthesia. Surgery normally takes 2-3 hours. Normally done as outpatient (home same day).
Recovery: The effect of the procedure is immediate after the short recovery period and improves slightly over the next few months as the thread stimulates creation of certain collagens. After the treatment there may be slight swelling and minor bruising. The treated area is taped for a few days to prevent movement. Recommended stay in Slovakia and back to work in 7 days. Activity should be minimised for 3-5 days after surgery and patients should avoid strenuous movement of the treated area for about 2 weeks. Scarring is minimal.
